Our history

The IRMA Foundation was established by a notarial deed of 17/12/2012 and four years later acquired the status of an OPP Public Benefit Organization.

training and the use of search and rescue dogs

Search and Rescue

We train ourselves and our dogs within the search and rescue activity in specialties of disaster search and open field search. We verify our skills by taking exams organized by the State Fire Service.

We regularly organize events such as workshops and international camps with SAR dog handlers and with rescuers from Poland and other countries (including Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and others) in order to exchange experiences and improve skills.

Search and Rescue is the main core of the foundation’s activities and is unpaid.

building proper relationships with dogs among children, adolescents and adults

Education

We run lectures, give speeches and organize demonstrations among children, adolescents and adults in order to raise awareness of building proper contacts and relations with dogs, acting to prevent bites and homelessness of dogs.

We believe that by shaping the right attitudes and knowledge about animal behavior and welfare among the youngest, we are able to prevent unwanted accidents involving animals in the future. Our dogs are gentle and prepared to work with children, thanks to which our classes are not only valuable but also pleasant for both parties.

Education is the foundation’s second main activity and is unpaid.
